Today, March 30th, marks the opening of the Heights new Dolce Neve, an Austin based gelato shop.
After successfully bringing the taste of Italy to Austin, Dolce Neve has opened a second store in the Houston Heights at 4721 North Main Street.
This Italian family owned business has shown Texans what Italian cuisine is all about. Dolce Neve owners, Francesca Silvestrini, her brother Marco Silestrini, and her fiancé Leopoldo Ferrarese, were raised in Italy and wanted to bring a piece of their home with them. Frencesca Silvestrini learned her craft at Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy, and then mastered it while working at a very renowned gelato shop in Pisa, Italy, called Gelateria De’Coltelli.
Dolce Neve decided on the Heights for its second location after some convincing by Dolce Neve fan and Morningstar owner, David Buehrer. Buehrer is such a fan of Dolce Neve he let them have a pop-up in his coffee and doughnut business, Morningstar, and then encouraged the business to expand to the open spot in his shopping center.
Dolce Neve serves high quality gelato in a variety of flavors, as well as drinks and sandwiches. Maintaining their high quality standards, Dolce Neve uses mostly locally grown all natural ingredients.
Dolce Neve will commence regular hours on Friday, March 31 starting at noon, and following the hours listed: Sunday–Thursday: 12–10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday: 12–11 p.m.
