Heights Central Station is soon to gain the first expansion of the half-century old Kolache Shoppe on Richmond Avenue. After buying the Kolache Shoppe in 2014, Randy and Lucy Hines received such great feedback that they soon began playing with the idea of sharing kolache goodness with other neighborhoods. Even with several neighborhoods throughout Houston on their radar, the Heights was always first choice for them. “The Heights was always at the top of that list simply for its reputation as a culinary hub of Houston and a tight-knit neighborhood. Coffee education café coming to the Heights Coffee expert Jacob Ibarra is bringing coffee education to the Heights. Tenfold Coffee will serve both coffee makers and coffee drinkers, making the perfect cup of coffee that much easier to attain. According to CultureMap, when customers buy their coffee beans from Tenfold, they’ll have the opportunity to bring in their staff and be trained on the basics. In addition, the café will offer a full range of espresso beverages with alternative milk options for the regular coffee lover. For Angie Gashette’s family that’s not the case, as her family proclaims her cooking to be the best in the neighborhood. Gashette and her husband raised their two sons in Oak Forest on home-cooked meals almost every night. Now that her sons are grown with families of their own, she still loves to gather the family and cook for the whole group. With the idea that quality breakfast can be served in a convenient and quick way, the eatery is set to open on Friday, September 21 at 2042 E. T.C. Jester. Brought to the community by the co-founder of its neighboring restaurant, King’s BierHaus, EggHaus Gourmet is Philipp Sitter’s newest concept. “The response has been overwhelming.
