Theatre Suburbia presents She Was Only Marginally Modest or Have You No Shame, an Old Fashioned Summer Mellerdramer, by Vern Harden. Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program invites the community to enjoy three hours of live rock, folk, and country music during the 17th annual Precinct 4 Opry July 27, from 7-10 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center. Musicians Michael and Ginny Hix return with The Holla Band and other special guests to bring uniquely dynamic, high-energy performances featuring pop, rock, and country hits from the past. Dumped and Forgotten Below the Milam Street Bridge: Houston in the Civil War exhibit will run through Aug. 4, at The Heritage Society, 1100 Bagby St. This multi-media exhibit educates visitors about Houston’s underappreciated role in the Civil War. FIRE MUSEUM OF TEXAS IN BEAUMONT

The fire museum of Texas is dedicated to preserving fire service history, and educating people about fire and life safety. Housed in the Beaumont Fire Department’s 1927 Central Fire Station, it was recognized as a historical landmark in 1983. Lunch will be available for purchase at Floyd’s Cajun Seafood and Steakhouse.
