All Saints TALC
All Saints Third Age Learning Center will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration Nov. 9, in the parish hall. Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Military Color Guard, music by Big Ed and the Happy Band, patriotic music, singing, refreshments and door prizes. All Veterans in attendance will be recognized and will receive a free hot lunch. Other attendees may purchase lunch for $2. Reservations are requested by Nov. 8. The Montie Beach Civic Club will host the Day of the Dead (“Dia de los Muertos”) in the Heights, from 2-7 p.m. Nov. 10, at Monte Beach Park, 915 Northwood St. Food will be available from several food trucks, and there will be alcohol for sale for those guests over 21. VETERANS’ DAY CELEBRATION
Durham Elementary will hold their Veterans’ Day Celebration at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in the school cafeteria. There will be 20-25 veterans expected to attend. The students have prepared songs, poems, readings and artwork to honor the veterans. The 9th Annual Oldie & Goodie Classic Car Show, postponed from Sept. 16 due to bad weather, has been rescheduled for Nov. 11, at Adolf Hoepfl Garage, 4610 N.
