A 15-year-old has been arrested on Criminal Mischief charges by the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office following a crime spree over the course of more than a week in the Heights, much to the relief of some residents. From Aug. 17-26, Precinct One deputies received at least 10 calls from property owners who discovered broken windows in their homes and on their vehicles. Some of those reports were in the 2200 block of Columbia Street and the 2000 block of Columbia Street. The damage appeared to have been caused by a “BB” type projectile targeting residential and vehicle window panes, vehicle windshields, and custom front doors with glass. Harris County Precinct One Deputies need the public's help in locating an armed robbery suspect. On August 29, 2018, authorities allege Pierre Brown robbed a Valero gas station located in the 5100 block of N. Shepherd Drive. Brown was armed with a handgun during the robbery. He was allegedly given $150 by the Valero employee before fleeing the scene, southbound on a red bicycle according to authorities. Investigators have learned that the suspect lived in the area. They also spoke to the property manager where the suspect lived and was able to confirm Brown's identity. Houston is filled with creative diversity, allowing for new artistic outlets to pop up all over the city. The Heights is home to Grackle and Grackle Literary Enterprises, an outlet that provides creative writing classes for all experience levels. Miah Arnold and husband Raj Mankad founded Grackle and Grackle about four years ago. Both Arnold and Mankad have a PhD from the University of Houston’s writing program. After leaving a job in Georgia and coming back to Houston, Arnold knew she wanted to teach, but creative writing jobs in academia are few and far in between. Update from the Precinct 1 Constable's Office: A 15-year-old boy has been arrested by Precinct One Deputies following a crime spree over the course of at least nine days in the Heights. A series of recent BB gun incidents around the Heights has some residents unnerved and concerned for the safety of their neighbors. Shortly before 8 p.m. Aug. 18, Sunset Heights resident Andy Noel said his wife was walking downstairs when she heard a pop following by the shattering of glass.
