Bicycle rally and scavenger hunt

The 13th Annual Houston Heights Bicycle Rally and Scavenger Hunt is coming up.The rally is open to riders of all ages and designed as a casual, self-paced ride. Entrants can choose between a 20-mile course through the Heights and near-by neighborhoods, or a shorter 5-mile ride designed for kids and their adult companions, or do both, starting and finishing at Marmion Park, 18th Street and Heights Boulevard.
After completing the ride, participants can celebrate at Marmion Park for the Post Ride Party and Awards Ceremony with entertainment, fabulous door prizes, and great refreshments including picnic fare, beverages and more. Entry fees: 20-mile route, $25. 5-mile route, $15.
For the scavenger hunt, each entrant will be issued a rally map and a scavenger hunt clue list. There will be one combination check point / water station mid-way on the route. The clue list describes a sight or object that can be seen along the rally course. The person who finds the most mystery objects will be named the winner.

The duo is comprised by TJ, the second chair of the violinist who plays with The Houston Symphony and pianist Joyce Han who studied in Germany and graduated with a performance degree. Free Admission!

Eight Row Whistle Pig Bespoke. 3rd, Chocolate Babka with a Mexican vanilla ice cream topped with Whistle Pig maple syrup, 4 oz. Divine Reserve 17 Baltic Porter aged in WhistlePig barrels , and .75 oz. Whistle Pig Farmstock #2.
Doug Ward of WhistlePig Whiskey will walk you through the whiskey selections, and Aaron Inkrott of Saint Arnold Brewing Company will pair the whiskey with his brews. Christina Ramey and Marcelo Garcia from Eight Row will make sure you have enough tacos to keep you going! $100 per person.

For many years Henry Rollins has taken photographs on his travels. Join Henry for an intimate evening as he shows many of his favorites from Baghdad to Pyongyang. Rollins will present a special performance drawing on experiences and his vast archive of photographs. “For many years, I have documented my travels all over the world with a camera. Never easy but always worth it. The photos have stories behind them. I have selected several images, to show and talk about.” As a keen observer, Henry will be bringing stories from journeys all over the world, including the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, South America and Antarctica.
