You may have noticed the former Piatto Ristorante location, located at 1111 Studewood, undergoing renovations. Foodies can rejoice, as the location has been taken over by a new restaurant, Arthur Ave.
The restaurant says they’re paying tribute to the heritage of Italian-American cuisine centered on hearty dishes and classic red sauce.
A search on the restaurant’s Facebook and social sites show the restaurant opening Summer 2016.
Triple A Restaurant shutters
The beloved neighborhood diner, Triple A Restaurant, posted a note on their door this week reading: “To our friends and loyal customers. We are sad to say we must close AAA. Due to lease negotiations. Thanks for many years of loyalty.”
Triple A first opened doors in 1942 and has continuously served classic dishes throughout the years. A neighborhood staple that will surely be missed.
King’s BierHaus coming to the neighborhood
Pearland’s beloved biergarten is making its way into the Heights.
The biergarten started in Pearland as a 45 seat restaurant, a place to get a great bier and a bratwust while you were getting your car washed on the same property. That 45 seat restaurant quickly grew into a recognized establishment and the family is bringing their dream here in the neighborhood at 2044 E. T.C. Jester Blvd. as King’s Bierhaus.
The former tenant of this location was Pecos Grill.
Nam Eatery receiving rave reviews
The opening of Nam Eatery was lost on my radar. The Vietnamese eatery opened at 502 E. 20th St., just near competitors Jenni’s Noodle House. On a recent Nextdoor thread
this month, neighbors have been raving about Nam Eatery. I ventured recently to try their $5 Pork Bahn Mi, and since then I’ve been back twice to sample the menu and each time I left happily satisfied. The restaurant’s menu features several delights focusing on fresh produce, all for a steal of a price. Give them a try and report back.
