After the recent departure of Chef Richard Knight, who was only with Harold’s Restaurant & Tap Room a few short months, Kathy Elkins, the Sous Chef at Harold’s has been promoted to Executive Chef. Also, moving up the ladder is Sergio Rosas, who is now the Executive Sous Chef.
Prior to her time at Harold’s, Elkins was influential in the opening of giacomo’s cibo e vino, where she worked six years with the founder. Elkins also worked at Hunky Dory and Better Luck Tomorrow before joining the team at Harold’s.
“Kathy carries on an important part of Harold’s culture and that is using farm fresh ingredients. We are committed to providing our guests with delicious Southern Cuisine and utmost Southern Hospitality. I am also extremely excited to have a woman lead our culinary team as there are not enough women chefs leading the way in this great culinary city we are in, or the world for that matter,” said Alli Jarrett, owner of Harold’s.
Elkins said, “I am honored to carry the torch at Harold’s. Supporting our local farmers is something that means a lot to me. I’m so proud to be a part of a restaurant that works so hard to keep all of these wonderful people busy doing what they love most.”
Elkins has added new dishes to the menu, including; a Peach Salad, Chilled Gazpacho Soup, Summer Pasta, and a Fried Gulf Shrimp Platter along with Southern Pulled Pork Tacos. She will continue to add her own creativity while serving guests with menu items that Harold’s is known for providing.
