MFT Interests Asset Manager Vinny Chiara says exterior work and build-out for Heights Central Station on the site of the old Heights Post Office should be finished soon, while a new tenant has signed on and more are in the works.
According to Chiara, a new dentist signed on at the end of April, joining Tiff’s Treats and Shine in the Heights as tenants who have signed on since the new year, along with Kolache Shoppe and Dish Society in 2017.
“All signed tenants should be turned over [for build-out] at the end of the month,” he said.
Further, he said there are two more clients currently in the leasing process, though they could not yet be disclosed due to ongoing negotiations.
Space still up for grabs
Chiara says about 8,000 square feet of space remains open on both first and second-floor of the building, with the project about 60 percent leased as of press time.
Dish Society, which currently has locations in the Galleria/Tanglewood and Katy/Cinco Ranch areas, is described on its website as an “all-day diner [which] turns out a seasonally changing menu with healthful modern twists on traditional favorites.” They also offer Greenway Coffee, as well as juices, and beer and wine.
Shine, a full-service hair salon, will keep their bungalow on 11th Street and expand further into the Heights when build-out is complete.
Meanwhile, Tiff’s Treats is adding to its expanding franchise. The company began just about as small as possible, with now-married couple Tiff and Leon taking orders on a cell phone and baking cookies in the oven at Leon’s apartment in Austin. And now, the pair will be opening its 41st location in the Heights.
The Kolache Shoppe – signed in 2017 – will offer Boomtown Coffee along with their signature Kolache’s through a drive-thru and counter service as they expand their brand into the Heights.
Remaining space for the project can be leased as either retail or creative loft. Potential tenants can contact Chris Dray of NewQuest Properties at email@example.com for any leasing information or inquiries.
