Foyé MD and Spa is bringing primary care and a medical spa to North Shepherd Drive. They aim to take wellness to a new level by combining body health and aesthetic beauty.
“We are the first and only medical spa to come to the Garden Oaks area,” said Dr. Foyé Ikyaator, owner of Foyé MD and Spa, “Our goal is to add to the value of the community and residents by providing affordable and medically advanced care.”
Dr. Foyé Ikyaator developed a passion for primary care after working full-time in emergency rooms across Houston. Many of the patients coming into the emergency room didn’t have a primary care doctor, and therefore didn’t have access to preventative care. She also knows that an important part of primary care is the patient feeling comfortable with the doctor who is treating them, which is why Dr. Ikyaator has assembled a medical team who both are relatable and have years of experience in their field.
The focus of the wellness clinic will be to treat the patient all around, not just the disease, but from prevention to diagnosis and treatment. They are dedicated to providing the patient with personalized care to help them feel the best they can inside and out.
The clinic will offer adult care services such as: routine exams, pre-operative and post-operative clearance exams, treatment and management of chronic conditions, weight management, and nutrition counseling. For women’s health, they’ll offer breast and pelvic exams, PAP smears, birth control, and bone density test ordering. They will also have pediatric care available with wellness exams for children five and up, urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries, and physicals. Services will also be provided for orthopedics, dermatology, and more.
“We have the experience, and our staff is very compassionate,” said Dr. Ikyaator, “we follow up with our patients because we really care about their well-being.”
In the medical spa, the providers have over thirty-five years of combined experience in medicine and aesthetics and will perform aesthetic procedures in a relaxed spa environment. These treatments are non-surgical and minimally invasive to give benefits beyond the products behind a store counter.
Specialty services for both men and women include anti-aging treatments, skin therapies such as PRP and micro-needling, and laser and injectable treatments such as laser hair removal, laser skin resurfacing, and Botox and dermal fillers. All patients will have complimentary consultations and evaluations to help them find the best services for their desired outcomes and budget.
One of their highlighted services, the weight loss clinic, will be supervised by both a Registered and Licensed Dietitian, and the medical director. Services will include medically-controlled programs, supervised weight management programs, and behavioral nutrition counseling to help patients build a healthy diet and routine that best fits their needs and lifestyle.
But the most important factor in weight loss is maintaining the goal weight.
“Our focus is educating people on how to eat,” said Dr. Ikyaator, “we want to help patients learn how to manage their weight and their health for a lifetime and not cause them to fall into the unhealthy yo-yo dieting trap. The ultimate goal is for our patients to not ‘need’ a diet program ever again.”
In addition to the weight loss clinic, the medspa will feature the FDA approved body contouring technology, SculpSure. This noninvasive laser permanently eliminates stubborn fat resulting in a more natural look, less pain, and in half the time of Coolsculpting. It’s perfect for men and women with problem areas despite diet and exercising regularly.
The med spa also offers the Vampire Facial (also known as the PRP facial), made famous by Kim Kardashian.
The service involves taking a small amount of the patient’s blood, filtering for Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP), and applying it to their face topically and transdermally. It is coupled with microneedling for simultaneous collagen production. This allows the patient to naturally produce healthy, youthful, and glowing skin.
For the primary care and wellness clinic most insurance is accepted, and FSA/HSA may cover some treatments in the medspa, depending on the individual’s plan. Financing will be available as well.
Foyé MD and Spa will be opening mid-October at 3800 N. Shepherd Dr. For an appointment visit their website at http://www.foyemdandspa.com or call 832-930-1705.
