St. Matthew’s Garden Club meets
The St. Matthew’s Garden Club will meet Jan. 26, at 9:30 a.m. in rooms 104 and 105, under the new leadership of President Virginia Haley. The devotional will be read by Wilma Stacener. The program theme will be “Fairy Gardening by Teresa.” Members will learn all about Fairy Gardening, how to assemble and care for the garden. Fair Garden kits will be available for purchase. Hostesses for the January meeting will Florrie Gaddis and Majorie Heaton.
Refreshments will be served. Anyone interested in gardening, flower arranging, plants and other useful information is welcome to come and enjoy the programs and socialize with friends and neighbors.

All Saints TALC holds Spring Registration
All Saints Third Age Learning Center (TALC), will hold its 2017 Spring Registration for classes and activities Jan. 26, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the church parish hall located at 215 E. 10th St. The 2017 semester of classes begins Feb. 6 and concludes May 5. Late registration will take place the first week of the semester, Feb. 6-10.
TALC is celebrating its 30th anniversary of offering seniors in the community a variety of classes and activities. Some of the classes offered this semester will include Spanish, woodworking, stain glass, water color, computer, scrapbooking, Mah Jong, exercise and much more. Seminars, birthday celebrations and special parties are held and all are welcome to attend the Valentine’s Day party on Feb. 14, with music by Big Ed and The Happy Band.
A full course hot lunch is available Monday through Friday at noon during the semester for a nominal fee of $2.

5th Sunday Singing at Oak Forest Baptist

Senior Time Event at First Church Heights
Senior Time Event meets the last Tuesday of every month at First Church Heights, 201 E. 9th St., in the fellowship hall, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This month’s meeting will be Jan. 31, and will feature guest speaker Attorney Caroline Kuipers of Hayes and Wilson, PLL, who will discuss wills, probate and estate planning for seniors and a light breakfast.

Senior Activities Day at St. Stephen’s
Adults age 50+ are welcome to attend Senior Activities Day Feb. 1, in the fellowship hall. Domino games begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a soup and sandwich lunch at 11:45 a.m. Love offerings are encouraged to help cover the cost of lunch.
The annual Dessert Extravaganza will be held Feb. 11, beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for six sample-size dessert tastings, with additional “tastes” for $1 each. Bid on a favorite in the silent auction. Auction and tastings end at 3:30 p.m. Profits will benefit St. Stephen’s youth ministry.

St. Rose Altar Guild to hold chocoholic games party
The St. Rose of Lima Altar Guild is hosting its annual Chocoholic Feast and Games night Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in the West Hall.

‘Alpha’ series at The Vineyard
For those interested in exploring the meaning of life, The Vineyard Church of Houston is hosting a series of 12 sessions titled “Alpha.” Alpha is a chance to find out more about the basics of Christian faith in a fun, relaxed setting. Food is provided, and there is no charge, no pressure and no follow-up. The series runs weekly from 7-9 p.m. through April 4.
