Spaghetti dinner at St. Rose
St. Rose of Lima Church welcomes the community to its annual Spaghetti Dinner, 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 22. Treat yourself to the culinary skills of Fr. Rafa and his exceptional cook team. The event will be held in the West Hall of the church. Adult dinners are $10, and a child’s plate is $5. Desserts will also be available for purchase. Dine in or carry out. This is an event for the entire family; games and face painting will be available for the kids.

Holiday Artisan Market at St. Stephen’s
“Love Your Neighbor” will be the theme for the next Messy Church to be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Messy Church is fun for all ages with interactive worship, games, crafts and dinner for the family. Admission is free.
The Holiday Artisan Market, benefiting the Animal Justice League of Oak Forest, will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the west sanctuary parking lot. The market will feature vendors, food trucks, live music and fun. All are welcome to bring pets to St. Stephen’s table before 3 p.m. for a Blessing of the Animals.

Game Night at Garden Oaks Baptist

All Saints TALC begins Fall semester
All Saints Third Age Learning Center has begun its 2018 Fall Semester. TALC offers a variety of classes and activities for seniors in the community. A hot lunch, prepared on-site, is available Monday-Friday during the semester for $2.
TALC will host a Movie Day from 10 a.m.-noon, Sept. 28. The movie feature will be “The Greatest Showman.” The 2017 movie musical, inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum, stars Hugh Jackman. Lemonade and popcorn will be provided.
Seniors can receive their free flu shot Oct. 2, from 10 a.m.-noon in the church parish hall. Shots will be administered by Christus Health Foundation nurses and reservations not required.

October Fall Festival at St. Matthew’s
Get ready for some fun, food and a silent auction. The big October Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch is coming Oct. 13. Kids can enjoy a train ride, face painting, and pumpkin decorating. There will be lots of great food, and silent auction.

Introducing Dr. Robert Clark, Interim Pastor for Garden Oaks Baptist
Garden Oaks Baptist Church is pleased to introduce Dr. Robert Clark as the new interim pastor. Clark was born in Japan to International Mission Board (IMB) missionary parents. After college at Houston Baptist University, he served as a youth minister in Florida prior to seminary in Texas. Robert received a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1980, he married Diana Kneisel and they have been blessed with three children.
