Sarah “Earline” King, 86, born June 6, 1930 in Blakely, Ga., died May 16 after a four year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. King built a career in accounting and bookkeeping with Exxon, Gulf Oil and Rice University. She was a long-time member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she served on the bereavement committee and worked at the food pantry. She is survived by her sister Faye Batt, daughters Sandra Goodrich Bunge, Robbie Goodrich Boyce, son Terry Goodrich, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Bill C. Kominczak, 92, born Nov. 10, 1924 in Chappell Hill, Texas, died May 19. He joined the United States Army and served in WWII, from December 1944 to October 1946. After being discharged from the Army, he married Pearl Reisner and was employed at Celotex until retirement in 1992. He was a member and past president of Polish Home Incorporated-Houston and a long-time member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Men’s Club, and helped facilitate the weekly bingo games. Kominczak is survived by his son, Lawrence Kominczak, daughter Lucille Rosas, brother Zigmond Kominczak, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Walter Louis Magee Jr., 88, born Dec. 8, 1928, died May 11. Magee was a graduate of Miller High School in Corpus Christi, and a member of Cypress United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Hoffmeister, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
William Joseph Vicknair, 77, born March 10, 1940, died May 16. Vicknair was employed in oil and gas as a supervisor for ABB, and enjoyed many pastimes, such as fishing, crabbing, camping, and being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Marie Vicknair, children Denise Fucik, Darrell Vicknair, Donna Vicknair and Darren Vicknair, siblings Martha Tusa, Diane Wanja and Thomas Vicknair, and seven grandchildren.
