Cottonwood, 3422 N Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77018
Many readers mentioned Cottonwood as a place that’s dog friendly. Manager Dave Minda said that they have water stations and paper bowels placed on the ground so dogs don’t get dehydrated. Dogs are welcome on all uncovered patio areas – Minda says if they need shade there are plenty of umbrellas on the uncovered part.
There’s a park next door that’s connected to Cottonwood and Minda says that the extra green space gives dogs a chance to stretch their legs. And if you want to give Rover a birthday party? Minda says they’ve done them before.
Henderson Heights Pub, 908 Henderson St, Houston, TX 77007
Megan Long, the owner of Henderson Heights pub, says that they are very dog friendly on the patio. “We love our fur babies at Henderson Heights pub,” she said. “We offer ice cold water with special dog bowls, free dog treats, free dog leashes and bandanas, and we even sell Bowser dog beer.”
They also host a pet adoption on our patio once a month. The first one will be Sept 18th from 1-5 p.m. with the new mobile SPCA adoptions.
Barking Pig, 2307 Ella Blvd, Houston, TX 77008
Reader Jennifer Molloy raves about a perfect set up for pups at the Barking Pig. “Dog treats, water bowls, fans, a doggy bag station for when your pup has an accident,” she says. “The staff is very welcoming.”
Owner Kristen Powell says they have the health code requirements of a dog station, hand sanitizer, poop disposal, plus the permit. She confirms that they do offer dog treats if the dog owner wants to hand them out.
Petrol Station, 985 Wakefield Dr, Houston, TX 77018
A neighborhood favorite is now dog friendly. The Petrol Station recently got the city permit for dogs. They say they offer water and have a lot of patio space.
Karbach Brewing Co., 2032 Karbach St, Houston, TX 77092
Their Biergarten is dog friendly and there are water coolers available to fill your dog’s water bowl. The manager says there is no shortage of dog lovers that work at Karbach.
Common Bond, 1706 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006
Loren Allardyce with Common Bond Café says that dogs are definitely welcome on their small patio and they are city permitted to allow them on the patio with the regular rules and regulations the city requires.
“We gathered the permit more as a courtesy for our guests walking the Montrose area with their dogs who want to stop and enjoy a coffee with their pooch,” she said, noting that another restaurant under their umbrella, Mia’s, is also dog-friendly: “That patio is large and the staff has been known to bring out water bowls.”
