Do you love pie? You are invited to a pie social with your neighbors! It’s a free, family oriented, community building social called “Peace through P.I.E.” which will take place this Saturday, Jan. 13.
Peace through P.I.E. is a national organization that promotes unity and peace among communities through pie socials, because we can’t love our neighbors if we don’t know them. P.I.E. also stands for “peace includes everyone.”
This year’s event will unite our local communities to promote caring, understanding and friendship. Plus, there will be super delicious pies, music, and games!
The purpose is to strengthen the walls of love, unity, peace, and respect among neighbors. Celebrate the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by attending this hallmark MLK holiday tradition.
The main sponsor of this year’s social is Beauty’s Community Garden, a public garden in nearby Independence Heights serving the whole area by offering gardening classes, educational events and food donations to those in need.
Partnering with Beauty’s Community Garden in this event are St. Matthews United Methodist Church and Memorial Hermann-Greater Heights.
Join your neighbors at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 4300 N. Shepherd Dr., from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Free admission. Pie-O-Neer Aprons are $15 if pre-ordered online.
