On Saturday, Aug. 11, Constable Alan Rosen will help kids prepare for back to school by hosting the 5th Annual Back to School Bash and Basketball Tournament at Eisenhower High School, located at 7922 Antoine Dr.
School supplies, haircuts, immunizations and health screenings are offered free of charge, for those who preregister.
Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m., and the tournament begins at 10 a.m.
Parents can register kids ages 6-17, to participate in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament facing off against Precinct 1 deputies, and former Los Angeles Laker Maurice Evans, for a fun game on the court. Participants can also enjoy free food, college fair, music, prizes and games.
“This is going to be a fun event. Citizens can interact with law enforcement in a positive setting. We can’t do what we do in law enforcement, without the assistance and support of the community. So, this is our way of getting everyone together to fellowship, and have a good time. I look forward to meeting all the families and friends,” Constable Rosen said. The event is part of the Building Bridges outreach program geared toward bringing law enforcement and youth together. Target, who is the event corporate sponsor, provided a generous donation for the distribution of free school supplies.
