It looks like he was handed the DNC’s talking points to recite. Mr. Wardell forgets that unhinged liberal Democrats are responsible for trying to assassinate Rep. Steve Scalise and other Republicans playing baseball, calling for the kidnapping of Barron Trump by a pedophile, conducting mock beheadings of the President, harassing Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen in public, protesting violently against free speech on campuses and other callous behaviors that are rarely criticized by CNN, NBC, CBS or ABC. The recent mass left-wing hysteria opposing the enforcement of existing immigration laws is particularly disturbing.
Trump has accomplished more in 16 months than Obama did in 8 years. Unemployment is lower for all races, North Korea is negotiating denuclearization, tax rates were reduced, regulations were rationalized, unfair trade practices are being challenged and the result is a booming economy. President Trump is following through on his promises and making America great again. The problem is that liberals hate the sudden change in the direction towards true conservatism. They are unhappy that Trump is successful when they predicted and tried to make him fail. The biased press has endorsed liberal beliefs and pandered to them for years, and now they cannot handle the long-brewing pushback from conservatives, hence their false Russian collusion narrative.
I would like to see additional “dangerous” actions by Trump if it continues to change the status quo, such as introducing term limits that would remove Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Sen. Chuck Schumer and the legacy of unproductive politicians from office. Also, if illegal immigration continues, we should declare war on Mexico and move the border south to acquire land in exchange for absorbing their citizens. Having a businessman break the political paradigms is refreshing to me.
Opinions should be expressed online or at the bar
Recently picked up a copy of your newspaper while at a Heights floral shop and antique shop next to Hickory Hollow Bar-B-Que. I don’t get ‘inbound’ in that neck of woods often as I live next to Addicks Dam on the west side. Was pleasantly surprised by the small hometown feel of the newspaper, was good to see Lynn Ashby, and the Police Blotter. However it was short lived by seeing The Reader and “opinions” of president Trump. So I tossed the newspaper in the trash bin, didn’t bother to use the coupons I had seen in next page for Southwells, the Mexican restaurants too, of which I would have gladly taken my kids and wife to, but was simply turned off by the rhetoric a page earlier. I was a subscriber of the Houston Chronicle since 1983, but stopped in 2012 due to the slant and bias news and leftist slant of their editors and many of the writers. Why buy something that pisses you off and don’t care for? Not even $350 worth of coupons and comics (which used to be called funnies) could save them. In a time when newspapers are failing right and left (www.newspaperdeathwatch.com) and subscription and readers leaving them behind like I did, why put crap like that in your own newspaper?
Yes, everyone has opinions, but they can express that online or at the bar, or wherever. That valuable space could have been a paid ad perhaps, not wasted on what some liberal thinks. The Houston Chronicle has sent me a LOT of spam mail with offers to try to get me back. Seventy-five cents a week for Sunday and Wednesday editions. Won’t happen, not because I don’t like reading, I LOVE reading, just not reading crap someone feels compelled to shove down my throat, whether paid for or free. In this case, was a nice looking area newspaper … and enjoyed it until! Anyways, thanks for listening, maybe will pick up another Reader next time at the antique and orchid store or barbecue place down there!
