UPDATE: The heights home where skeletal remains were found in the wall, is now up for sale. The new renters who found the remains have since moved out. Investigators have yet to officially identify who the remains belonged to. The recently remodeled home is listed for $439,900.
Heights residents are still a bit in shock after a grisly scene unfolded over the weekend, as new homeowners moving in discovered skeletal remains stuffed inside the wall of their new residence.
The couple were getting things set up in their new attic and realized there was a loose board. After moving the board they found a group of bones hidden in the walls.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called to a home in the Heights at 610 Allston St. after homeowners discovered the human remains behind a crawlspace Neighbors told our media partners at KHOU that the previous homeowner, 61year-old Mary Cerruti, was reported missing more than two years ago.
The victim’s identity and cause of death are still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
