For The Leader
“Soon” says Ali Nahhas, owner of the mom and pop style business. “We are predicting a “soft opening” on June 1, if progress continues as it is now.”
Ali, who started in the food business over 20 years ago, is really looking forward to being part of the Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, and Heights communities. Being part of a neighborhood is important to him. He enjoys knowing people’s names when they come in, who and how their family members are. He wants to become involved in all aspects of the community, including helping out local non-profits when he can.
Aladdin is a family friendly cafeteria styled business where the food tastes like home cooking. The Mediterranean cuisine is always fresh and flavorful. Portions are filling, prices are reasonable, everything is good!! You can come in and enjoy the atmosphere, the pita bread cooking in the big brick oven, the colorful décor, the patrons of many different cultures who come here to eat. You can check out the many varieties of hummus, the huge salad choices, the vegan options, the gluten free options, the entrees of fish, lamb, beef, and chicken. There are the gyros, falafel, kabobs, and shawarma. Many vegetable options: squash, eggplant, the mashed potato balls, and a customer favorite, the roasted cauliflower. And always fresh squeezed juices and baklava for those who like a flaky dessert!
Even though the Oak Forest Aladdin opening is right around the corner, feel free to drop by the Westheimer location and sample some of the cuisine. You won’t be disappointed!
Aladdin is hiring from the neighborhood. Please go online and fill out an application. Ali does all of the interviewing, as customer service is the most important part of his business and he chooses every applicant wisely. He needs to be sure “they are nice, inside and out.”
