You’ve Got Maids cleaning homes and enriching lives

Whether a part of the working world or not, house-cleaning can be seen as among the most tedious tasks in a home. But a new cleaning service here in the neighborhood is taking that burden off our shoulders by combining an atypical home cleaning experience, complete with a personalized touch from estimate to completion.

You’ve Got Maids of Central Houston Co-founders Raul Wong and his wife Moylam found You’ve Got Maids after Moylam’s layoff from the oil and gas industry and several ultimately fruitless attempts to re-enter. During that time, they said, Moylam discovered a passion for cleaning, and tapped into her lifelong passion of helping others. She had also always desired owning her own business, so following several months of due diligence, the couple pulled the trigger on joining the national residential cleaning franchise.

Since February, the Wongs and their crew have diligently worked out of 1431 North Durham to make each home they clean a happier, cleaner, and healthier environment. They simply don’t know any other way.

“It’s just been a fantastic reception so far, and it’s a service everyone wants – you want to come home and have a clean house.

You don’t want to spend your time cleaning homes when you have so little time left on the weekends,” Raul said.

You’ve Got Maid offers top-notch cleaning services to all comers, ranging from the Heights out to Garden Oaks, Timbergrove, Rice Military and beyond. Their services are offered anywhere from a weekly cleaning to once a month – and everything in between – along with a one-time move-in and move-out cleaning.

Included in a You’ve Got Maids special is both a deep clean and maintenance cleaning; and prior to any work being done, You’ve Got Maids provides prospects with an initial free estimate – so workers can adapt the experience to each individual customer’s cleaning needs.

While You’ve Got Maids of Central Houston offers many services, their most-requested service comes in an exclusive 52-point Spring Clean. During this inspection, maids scrub and clean virtually any available surface in a home, using only HEPA-approved home cleaning equipment and ECO-friendly products. With special focuses on the bathroom, kitchens, floors and dusting, workers will scrub, vacuum and shine their way through the home until customers are satisfied with the level of cleanliness. Cleaning time can range from three to eight hours, depending on square footage of the home, but will always be finished by end-of-day.

Additionally, Raul added, many aspects of the 52-point inspection can be conducted by other professionals – but often at additional cost. However, at You’ve Got Maids, it’s all-inclusive.

“It’s a very thorough, top-to-bottom cleaning, and our maids crawl around your house on their hands and knees,” Moylam said. “Our clients literally breathe better air.”

Following completion, the Wongs and You’ve Got Maids also offer a reduced rate for continued maintenance cleaning with regularly scheduled home cleanings. Primarily excluding weekends, maids can swing by at a customer’s scheduled comfort, regardless of work or home life’s schedules.

“Time is precious,” Raul said. “Why spend it cleaning, when we can do it while you work or do whatever else you want to do?

We can clean whether you’re there or not. It doesn’t really matter to us.” And the service doesn’t end there.

Extending a helping hand
You’ve Got Maids also partners with Cleaning for A Reason, a non-profit organization that provides the gift of free house cleaning for women undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Their goal is to let these women focus on their health and treatment while You’ve Got Maids focuses on, and takes away the worry and work of, cleaning their homes– free of charge.

Over the course of the partnership, You’ve Got Maids is proud to have donated more than $115,500 in free cleanings to more than 28,000 women. And in just five weeks of operation locally, the Wongs have already conducted three such house cleanings.

“We’re trying to do one or two houses per month – it’s a giving back thing that we want to do,” Raul said.

No stone left unturned
From a comprehensive training system known as Maid University, a vetting system which sees about 20 candidates interviewed for every hire and assigning personal on-site supervisors to using eco-friendly products and more, the Wongs also leave no stone unturned in hopes of taking the cleaning weight off of customers’ shoulders and ensuring every possible contingency is accounted for.

“It’s really all about the detail we’re putting into it,” Moylam said.
