Arson investigators are looking into a house fire in Acres Homes last week that injured one person.
The Houston Fire Department said in a news release that crews responded to a home in the 6100 block of Morrow Street just after 8 a.m. July 12 to find officers from the Houston Police Department had helped to rescue the occupants of a burning home by forcing open the front door. Heavy fire was coming from the rear of the home with two nearby exposures, according to HFD.
HFD said one occupant was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident, which caused an estimated $42,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to HFD.
