YOUNG ADULT CAR CLINIC
Adolf Hoepfl Garage
Adolf Hoepfl Garage, 4610 N. Shepherd Dr., will hold the Ron Adair Young Adult Clinic from 10 a.m.-noon, Aug. 18. The cost is $25 per student. Space is limited. Individual instruction, good to know info for young drivers. Information: 713-695-5071.

LIBRARY ORIENTATION
Clayton Library for Genealogical Research
In Clayton Library’s monthly orientation, the process of research and discovery in the beginning steps of a family history project will be covered. Following the introduction, come examine the resources available. The orientation will be from 10:15-11:30 a.m. Aug. 18. Reservations required. SNUFFLE MAT CRAFT CLASS
El Gato Coffeehouse
Come spend a Sunday morning surrounded by cats making cat toys at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 19, at El Gato Coffeehouse, 508 Pecore. The project is the snuffle mat cat toy. All craft materials will be supplied and instructions provided. Spend an afternoon learning new skills and making new friends both furry and human! Adult Craft Passes are $25, Student Craft Passes (with valid college ID) $22; and Kid Craft Passes (5-17 years) $18. Children under 5 years of age not permitted. MOVIE AND CRAFTING WITH CATS
El Gato Coffeehouse
Join El Gato and Polydactyl in what is to be a fun evening of crafting at the Movies at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Polydactyl is teaching us to make Cat Nip Popcorn Toys while watching a movie on the big screen with cats. Adult Craft Passes are $37, Student Craft Passes (with valid college ID) $35, Kid Craft Passes (5-17 years) $32, must be over 5. Price includes all craft materials, instruction, and movie. SUMMER MELLERDRAMER
Theatre Suburbia
Theatre Suburbia presents She Was Only Marginally Modest or Have You No Shame, an Old Fashioned Summer Mellerdramer, by Vern Harden. Set in the dilapidated Dead Moose Lodge, this show is just choc full of puns, alliterations, and just plain old made up stuff. Fun entertainment for all ages. HITS THEATRE FUNDRAISER
Boheme
Support arts education and join HITS Theatre at Boheme, 307 Fairview St. (77006) from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 30. Cultured Cocktails at Boheme will donate 10% of all drink sales will directly benefit HITS. Cultured Cocktails takes place every Thursday and benefits a different artist or arts organization. PINOT AND PAW BYOB PAINTING CLASS

Spend a Friday night painting cats at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 31. All materials will be supplied. Just bring a bottle of wine. Leave the session with a piece of cat art you can proudly hang on the wall.
