Friends of Woodland Park
The Friends of Woodland Park will dedicate the latest public park enhancement – Firefly Field by Dylan Conner – a sculptural gateway for Woodland Park, 212 Parkview, from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 2. The highlight of the evening will be the dedication of the work by Council Member Karla Cisneros, followed by a celebration including music, food, and fun for the children. IHFest 2018 will be the First Annual event celebrating the heritage of the community to be held Nov. 3. This year we will be celebrating the kickoff to North Main Street Heritage Corridor with a ribbon cutting at the new Welcome Center and the installation of a gas light sponsored by CITGO. The Waltrip High School Class of 1988 will be having their 30 year reunion at 1 p.m. Nov. 3, at the Waltrip High School Homecoming Game at Delmar Stadium, 2020 Mangum Rd. VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION
All Saints TALC
All Saints Third Age Learning Center will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration Nov. 9, in the parish hall. Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Military Color Guard, music by Big Ed and the Happy Band, patriotic music, singing, refreshments and door prizes. All Veterans in attendance will be recognized and will receive a free hot lunch. Other attendees may purchase lunch for $2. Reservations are requested by Nov. 8.
