Dear Editor: Stephanie and I were married in Coffeyville, KS, famous for the Dalton gang, on Dec. 23, 1967. That’s a long, long time! We have been in NW Houston for about two years. We were looking for a place to celebrate 50 years with a great atmosphere and good food. We were greatly influenced by your ads for Cavatore’s and booked a reservation and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Highly recommend it! Brian Immovable paper products store? Dear Editor: Regarding “Stationary store coming soon to the Heights” (July 28), I have a question: If the paper products store is stationary, how will it be able to move to the Heights? J. Reynolds Boys of Summer Dear Editor: I was impressed with the way the Team Thunder supported each other. They were very well behaved on and off the … [Read more...] about Reader: Couple celebrate 50 years of marriage at Cavatore
Dear J. Reynolds: The Thai people are very proud of their heritage, their constitutional monarchy, and their king. I doubt that he would ridicule your name. C. Mellott Dessert is a Must Dear Editor: Cavatore holds a special place in my heart. My husband to be and I had our first date at Cavatore in 2010. We now go to the Farmers Market in the parking lot on Saturdays, have happy hour in the bar and dinner. We celebrate many occasions at Cavatore and have introduced friends to this fine restaurant as well. Friends from Kingwood will drive in to join us at Cavatore. Keep on keeping on we love Cavatore. Kate Take me to your Litter Dear Editor: We can eliminate plastic bags and plastic straws, but the real problem is the population expansion of humans. It is ludicrous to think … [Read more...] about Reader: The Thai King
Dear Editor: This is craziness! With all of the flooding, how could anyone in their right mind grant these permits OR allow this development to occur? Thank you Turner for putting this on hold. Watching Eleanor Tinsley Park be under water on July 4th for the first time in 31 years should be a sign that we have a major problem that must be fixed before we allow additional development. Fix the flooding now! Emilie Cooksey Political reactions fit better on national pages Dear Editor: In the June 28 edition, two letters to the editor indicated the authors think The Leader is liberal. Except for Lynn Ashby’s column, which I will comment on shortly, I don’t see how anyone can see the news or editor’s comments as liberal or conservative. You keep your readers updated on events, businesses, … [Read more...] about Reader: Timbergrove development halted
Dear Editor: In today’s paper R. Johnson makes a case for supporting President Trump, which is his opinion. The other opinion, from Mr. Stakes, says if you are going to put political opinions in the paper he refuses to read it. I thought that is what an opinion column was all about? It seems that Eddie is offended by opinions that differ from his own so he decides to “shoot the messenger.” The refusal to listen to another’s opinion is what has lead us to the vitriolic political situation that now exists. You don’t have to agree with a person’s opinion, but shouting them down when they speak is straight out of the anarchists/leftists play book. Jeff Przybyla Dear Editor: I agree with Mr. Stakes to the extent that I like to see local and community news in The Leader, as there is … [Read more...] about Reader: Political reactions fit better on national pages
Dear Editor: I shook my head when I read Alfred Wardell’s comment that President Trump “is dangerous to the country, our values, our allies and democracy itself.” It looks like he was handed the DNC’s talking points to recite. Mr. Wardell forgets that unhinged liberal Democrats are responsible for trying to assassinate Rep. Steve Scalise and other Republicans playing baseball, calling for the kidnapping of Barron Trump by a pedophile, conducting mock beheadings of the President, harassing Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen in public, protesting violently against free speech on campuses and other callous behaviors that are rarely criticized by CNN, NBC, CBS or ABC. The recent mass left-wing hysteria opposing the enforcement of existing immigration laws is particularly … [Read more...] about Reader: Dangerous to All?
