Both involved parties have been cited following a single-vehicle accident involving two pedestrians in Garden Oaks earlier this week.
Houston Police Department spokesperson Victor Senties said officers were called out to a crash in the 4100 block of North Shepherd Drive near West Crosstimbers Road shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday. Senties said the driver of a Chevy pickup truck was traveling northbound on Shepherd when it struck two pedestrians who were crossing Shepherd from the east to the west, not in a crosswalk.
Police issued citations to the pedestrians for failing to yield the right of way to a vehicle, and to the driver for having no driver’s license, according to Senties. Senties said an initial investigation revealed that pedestrians failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle, and both pedestrians were transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was questioned at the scene and then released, and no additional charges have been filed in connection with the incident, according to Senties.
