Three restaurants in the same area shopping center were burglarized early Thursday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD spokesperson Jodi Silva said Friday that there were connected break-ins at EggHaus Gourmet, located at 2042 E. T.C. Jester Blvd.; AshleyCakes at 2032 E. T.C. Jester Blvd.; and Tea + Victory, a board game cafe at 2030 E. T.C. Jester Blvd. Silva said video surveillance from Tea + Victory indicated there were three gloved and masked suspects who broke into each business through a front glass door or window.
Silva said money was taken from AshleyCakes and Tea + Victory. She said it was unknown if anything had been stolen from EggHaus, where the cash register had been thrown on the floor.
The Leader reported a previous break-in at Tea + Victory in June, and neighboring I Cycle Bike Shop was burglarized in October. A Thursday Instagram post from AshleyCakes Houston said there have been 15 break-ins at the strip center within the last year.
“I wish people would consider the livelihoods of the small business owners they are affecting,” the post read.
