Valor Barbershop in Oak Forest is running a promotion honoring Houston first responders who have died in recent days.
Houston Fire Department arson investigator Lemuel Bruce and Houston Police Department Sgt. Harold Preston were killed in the line of duty earlier this month, with Bruce dying Oct. 16 in a shootout with a suspected arsonist in Timbergrove Manor. Also, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office deputy Micheal Floyd’s sudden death last week remains under investigation.
Valor Barbershop at 2217 W. 34th St. will be donating $5 from each haircut to the men’s families through Nov. 3 to help with unexpected expenses. Customers can book online at valorbarbershop.com.
“To the families of these heroes, our thoughts and prayers are with you,” the shop wrote in a Facebook post Monday. “To these heroes, we are honored you chose to protect us. Godspeed.”
