Local law enforcement officers are searching for a man accused of being involved in a string of motor vehicle burglaries and thefts in Garden Oaks and Shepherd Park Plaza.
The suspect, identified as Kenneth Stephen Cavazos by the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, remains at large, according to a crime alert from the constable’s office. He has been charged with felony burglary of a motor vehicle, burglary of a building and felony theft, according to Precinct 1.
Precinct 1 said investigators were called to a home in the 800 block of Fisher Street last Friday, Oct. 23 in regards to an alleged burglary that happened Oct. 16, when a homeowner claimed a bike was stolen from the property. After locating bike parts at Cash America Pawn Shop off Mesa Road, Precinct 1 said subsequent investigation identified Cavazos as the suspect.
Cavazos allegedly barricaded himself inside a home when investigators tried to make contact with him, according to Precinct 1.
According to Harris County court records, Cavazos has previous convictions in the county for engaging in organized criminal activity, possession of a controlled substance, terroristic threats and assault of a family member.
