Houston police are investigating a stabbing at a local convenience store that put a man in the hospital last week.
The victim, 56-year-old Benjamin Russell, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said a male suspect told investigators that Russell allegedly walked into a bathroom at the Star Stop gas station at 3003 Ella Blvd. around 11 a.m. Oct. 29 and attacked him from behind without provocation. The suspect told police he stabbed Russell in self-defense, according to HPD.
