Thanks to the passing of House Bill 1545, an alcohol-related measure, all Texas breweries can now sell beer to go beginning Sunday.
Holler Brewing, 2206 Edwards St., is celebrating by hosting an “extravacanza” beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, when it will unleash its first-ever Holler cans.
At 11 a.m., Eddie O’s BBQ will set up with brisket, pork ribs, craft sausage and sides.
Ike’s opening first Houston location
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, a restaurant chain from San Francisco, is opening its first Houston outpost in the Heights at 1051 Heights Blvd.
According the CultureMap, Ike’s grand opening was Thursday, with the first 50 people receiving free sandwiches.
Ike’s website has not yet been updated to include the Houston location and menu.
Savoir’s grand opening
The Heights restaurant Savoir, 1344 Yale St., will have its grand opening on Sept. 10 and is currently taking reservations on Resy.
The menu at Savoir will feature European-American fare.
Owner Brian Doke has been in the restaurant industry for many years. He spent eight years as the director of operations for Tiny Boxwood’s, and after that consulted both Relish Restaurant & Bar and Chapman & Kirby.
Doke has also brought on Micah Rideout. Other Savoir team members include general manager Evin Haines, events director Abby Majia and wine director William Meznarich.
