The Toasted Yolk will open its 11th Houston-area location on Dec. 9 at 4601 Washington Ave.
The full-service café is known for its breakfast and lunch classics, fresh juices, coffee creations and cocktails.
In celebration of its opening, The Toasted Yolk is offering free churros to diners and $3 mimosas on opening day.
On Dec. 5-6 from 9 a.m.–noon, first responders and hospital staff are invited to dine as complimentary guests before The Toasted Yolk opens to the public.
Chef and co-owner of FM Kitchen departs
Ryan Hildebrand announced on Facebook that he would be leaving as chef and co-owner of FM Kitchen & Bar, 1112 Shepherd Dr.
“While I am excited for this next chapter for me, my family and career, I am saddened to leave the crew at FM that has become a family in its own,” Hildebrand’s post read.
While what’s next for Hildebrand has yet to be made public, FM Kitchen will continue to be run by Hildebrand’s previous partner, Chong Yi.
Sing shutters in Heights
After being open a little more than a year in the Heights, Sing has closed its doors.
According to CultureMap, Jerry Lasco, founder of Lasco Enterprises, which owned Sing, said the restaurant wasn’t able to make it work out financially.
Sticky’s Chicken coming to Sawyer Yards
The food truck Sticky’s Chicken is opening its new brick-and-mortar restaurant in Sawyer Yards at 2313 Edwards St.
The truck was started by siblings Benson and Patsy Vivares in 2014. Sticky’s Chicken is known for its signature sauce, which is a family recipe.
Sticky’s will serve its signature wings or “sticks,” which are chicken over French fries, along with chicken and rice plates.
According to CultureMap, a bigger kitchen will allow for new menu items, like a chicken sandwich, catering and to-go services. Sticky’s is expected to open early this month.
Japanese hand roll concept opens on White Oak
Handies Duozo opened this past Sunday at 3510 White Oak Dr.
The Japanese hand roll concept was announced last year before co-owners Daniel Lee and Patrick Pham launched a NextSeed campaign to help fund the project.
