Local restaurants are making it easy for people to enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday without the stress of cooking. Whether it’s just providing the turkey, the whole meal or giving you a dine-in experience, these restaurants have you covered.
BB’s Tex-Orleans is offering fried turkeys, available to order from its Heights (2701 White Oak Dr.) and Oak Forest (1737 W. 34th St.) locations. The deadline to order is noon Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Truth BBQ, 110 S. Heights Blvd., has smoked turkey, whole or breast, and whole briskets available for order. You can also grab a pan of green beans, corn pudding and loaded mashed sweet potatoes. The deadline to order is Saturday.
Rainbow Lodge, 2011 Ella Blvd., has Thanksgiving meals available for pre-order 48 hours in advance of picking it up from Nov. 24-26. While the restaurant has the classic turkey option, you can also order Texas quail, duck or roasted pheasant. It also has beef tenderloin, venison loin, bison tenderloin and a rack of lamb on the to-go menu.
Gabby’s BBQ, 3101 N. Shepherd Dr., is offering all the Thanksgiving fixings to-go. You can order just a turkey, just sides or packages depending on how many people are gathering. Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance, and pick-up is available Thanksgiving day.
Pinkerton’s Barbecue, 1504 Airline Dr., has whole turkey breast and whole brisket available for order. The deadline to order is Monday, Nov. 23 and would have to be picked up on Thanksgiving day.
Verdine, 449 W. 19th St., is offering a vegan Thanksgiving to-go. You can pick from 12 different plant-based dishes at https://verdine-houston.square.site/thanksgiving. The deadline to order is Friday.
Gatlin’s BBQ, 3510 Ella Blvd., is offering turkey and sides to complete your holiday meal. Orders must be placed by 3 p.m. Friday and picked up on Nov. 24-25.
Demeris Bar-B-Q, 1702 W. Loop N. Fwy. A, has Thanksgiving meal packages for catering your family gathering, or you can order turkey and sides a la carte. To guarantee availability, you must order my Nov. 23.
Revival Market, 550 Heights Blvd., has a selection of turkeys, smoked ham and duck, plus side items like stuffing, green bean casserole, mac and cheese and herb roasted potatoes. The deadline to order is Friday.
B&B Butchers & Restaurant, 1814 Washington Ave., is planning a full dine-in Thanksgiving experience, including a three-course meal featuring family-style side dishes. Every guest will also get to take home a “leftover” turkey sandwich made from the butcher shop. It will come with roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and a side of gravy. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 713-862-1814.
If you’re looking for just dessert, Dolce Neve Gelato, 4721 N. Main St., has its own take on pecan pie available for pre-order. It is a cake made with pecan gelato, caramelized maple syrup, pecan crumble and chocolate leaves. Dolce also has a Thanksgiving dome cake, made with a graham cracker pecan base, chocolate gelato and pumpkin gelato covered in dark chocolate. The deadline to order cakes is Saturday.
