The United Way of Greater Houston recently recognized Heights resident Stephen Fraga as the recipient of its 2020 Volunteer of the Year award. The honor is given each year “in recognition of extraordinary leadership and commitment to community service.”
Fraga, the president of Heights-based Tejas Office Products, has been on the United Way’s board of trustees since 2013. During that time, he has served on the organization’s executive committee, executive compensation committee, strategic thinking executive committee and chairman of the community impact committee.
“As a true champion for the work of United Way and an advocate for those who struggle, Stephen has helped guide and steward our investments in services that reach people at the most critical moments of their lives,” United Way president and CEO Amanda McMillian, another Heights resident, said in a news release.
Fraga also serves as chairman of the board of the Houston Sports Foundation and is a member of the audit committee at Memorial Hermann Health System. He earned a bachelor of business administration in finance from Texas A&M and lives in the Heights with his wife and three sons.
