Hogg Middle School’s replacement for outgoing principal Angela Sugarek is coming from within.
According to a Tuesday post on the school’s Facebook page, the school has selected Vanessa Saldana to be its next principal. Sugarek submitted her resignation in March and, after this school year, will move to Pennsylvania to be chief executive officer of a group of charter schools there.
Saldana is a veteran educator and has spent the last four years at the school as Hogg’s seventh grade principal.
“She has a true passion for helping students and teachers learn and grow,” the school’s Facebook post read. “She will be a principled and thoughtful leader, and she is absolutely the right person to take Hogg Middle School to the next level.”
