The Hogg Middle School wrestling team and head coach Fidel Aleman recently took home second place at the 2019 Texas Middle School State Championships held at Southlake Carroll High School.
Several Hogg wrestlers took home high individual honors, highlighted by eighth grader Joseph Roman. He was the state champion in the 120-pound weight class and was named Boys Outstanding Wrestler.
Fellow eighth graders Adrian Lopez placed second in the 120-pound class, while Ben Brown was runner-up in the 132-pound category and Gabriel Lopez placed third in the 126-pound group.
In girls competition, Hogg eighth grader Roxy Gonzales placed second in the 113-pound class. Sixth grader Maia Santos was fourth in the 89-pound class.
