The Houston Heights Association (HHA), after holding a two-day community blood drive earlier this month, has planned another for next week.
The Greater Heights Blood Drive, held in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, is scheduled for 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the Historic Heights Fire Station at 107 W. 12th St. Those who wish to donate must register at https://www.commitforlife.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/312988.
According to the HHA, the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is requiring all donors to wear masks. They will be provided to donors who do not have one.
In honor of Memorial Day on Monday, donors will receive a special red, white and blue T-shirt for donating. And for each blood donation, the HHA said the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will donate $5 to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that serves veterans.
