Crawford Bock, a reference to the Crawford Boxes behind the left-field fence, will debut at the Astros FanFest on Jan. 26 at Minute Maid Park. The beer will be available at the ballpark and at bars, restaurants, grocery stores and liquor stores across Texas beginning in March.
The can design for the beer, which will be 4.5 percent alcohol by volume and is billed by Karbach as smooth and malty, features an Astros logo and resembles their old rainbow-colored uniforms.
“All of us at Karbach are diehard Astros fans and we’re proud to pay tribute to the heritage of the team with this new beer,” David Graham, brand manager for Houston-based Karbach, said in a news release.
A portion of sales from every keg and case of Crawford Bock will benefit the Astros Foundation and its community initiatives, which include youth baseball and softball, military support, childhood cancer awareness and efforts to reduce homelessness.
