A man who allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of an area fitness center then drove her to a hospital, according to the Houston Police Department.
Harris County court records show Lawrence Alvin Tucker, 32, was charged with aggravated assault of a family member and assault of a family/household member in the 228th State District Court. He is accused of shooting 34-year-old Brittiane Johnson, who was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot of the 24 Hour Fitness at 12708 Northwest Freeway late Tuesday afternoon when Tucker allegedly approached her, began arguing with her and shot her, according to HPD.
Police say Tucker then placed Johnson in his pickup truck and drove her to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital, where he was arrested by HPD officers. HPD said Johnson sustained “what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”
Court records show Tucker was convicted of assaulting Johnson in 2016 and another woman with whom he had a dating relationship in 2011.
