Police have charged a man in connection with a string of burglaries in local neighborhoods.
According to a Facebook post from the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Raul Carreon, 39, has been charged with robbery and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a theft.
The constable’s office said a male suspect pulled into the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Chamboard Lane May 9 before entering an attached garage, grabbing Ryobi tools valued at $2,500 and taking them back to his black pickup truck.
According to the post, the female resident caught the suspect in the act and attempted confronting him, after which time the post says the suspect dragged the resident down the driveway when she attempted to grab the tool bag from him.
The post said deputies had received several other complaints from neighborhoods such as the Heights, Woodland Heights, Garden Oaks, Oak Forest and Shepherd Park involving a Hispanic male in a black pickup truck pulling up to residences, stealing items and then fleeing.
Then on May 10, the post said police noticed a man and vehicle matching Carreon’s description inside a local pawn shop attempting to pawn off stolen items via a third party. The store owner then told police Carreon had been into the shop multiple times pawning items through other people.
If any area residents have experienced similar incidents within the last couple of months, they are encouraged to contact Cpl. Joseph Bowden at Joseph.Bowden@Cn1.Hctx.net with a detailed list of stolen items and dates to help in tracking them down.
