Kristi Kolmetz knows that helping her clients buy and sell their homes will often be one of the largest investments they make in their lifetime, and it’s not a role she takes lightly.
With a background in marketing and business development in the architecture/engineering/contracting industry, transitioning to residential real estate wasn’t a far leap. After years of pestering, her mother and area realtor, Carolyn Bryant, convinced Kristi to get her real estate license and join her in the business.
Since becoming a team in early 2016, the two have become quite the team, with Kristi putting her marketing background to work, and Carolyn bringing her years of experience to the table. But they both agree that clients come first.
“We know that if we take care of our clients, our clients will take care of us (through referrals),” Kolmetz said. “We realize there are a lot of great agents, and most people know more than one, so we never take for granted when we are given the opportunity to walk someone through the process.”
Kristi is a long-time resident of Shepherd Park Plaza, and most of her clients are in the Garden Oaks, Oak Forest and Heights area. She loves running into her clients while out and about in the area. Her clients are far more than a transaction, they become friends.
“You spend a lot of time together throughout the buying/selling process, and you learn about each other; I still check in with most of my clients on a regular basis just to see how they’re doing,” she said.
The mother/daughter team reports business is strong during this pandemic, despite some delays and slowdowns in March. HAR reports home sales are down 20 percent in May year over year, but their area remains strong in moving inventory.
“COVID has forced us to rethink and refine our marketing so we can continue to represent our clients in the best way possible,” Kolmetz said. “As much as digital marketing played a part in real estate pre-COVID, this is going to further transform the industry”.
Despite all the uncertainty, both Kristi and Carolyn have continued to serve their clients and make them their priority.
“We had very particular requirements – we wanted to buy the right home for us, not just a ‘nice’ home,” one buyer recently said about Kristi. “Kristi’s market knowledge, negotiating skill and understanding of the process helped us close on the perfect home without overpaying because we had to have a specific home.”
Currently, the duo has a listing in Shepherd Park Plaza where the sellers have set up a PPE station for potential buyers.
“Selling a house is a lot of work, and selling a house in a pandemic is even more work,” seller Steve L. said. “We are so thankful to have Carolyn and Kristi advising us on how to get the most value for our home during the exceptional times.”
It’s no doubt whether you’re buying or selling, you’re in good hands with Kristi & Carolyn.
