Plans already are in place to replace the shuttered H-E-B Pantry Store at the Jester Village shopping center near T.C. Jester Boulevard and 18th Street.
H-E-B’s last remaining pantry in the area closed Jan. 29, ahead of the opening of the grocery chain’s newest creation at the corner of Shepherd Drive and 24th Street in the Heights.
Brixmor Property Group spokesperson Kristen Moore, whose company owns Jester Village, said a new tenant has been secured for the space in the 1500 block of West 18th Street. Moore declined to identify the tenant, which is expected to open its business in the third quarter of 2019.
“The space will be open by the end of the year,” Moore said.
A report from Swamplot said national fitness chain 24 Hour Fitness has plans to take over the space. The report says 24 Hour Fitness already has filed plans to build a nearly 2,000 square-foot pool inside the building.
