As many are ringing in the new year, one area business is dealing with the aftermath of a New Year’s Eve burglary.
Houston Police Department spokesperson John Cannon said officers responded to a criminal mischief call shortly before 11 a.m. Dec. 31 at Plonk! Beer and Wine Bistro at 1214 W. 43rd St., where a restaurant employee found a side glass door shattered and an undisclosed amount of cash stolen from the business.
Cannon added that surveillance video shown to police at the scene showed one suspect entering the business at 3:15 a.m. and entering an office before allegedly making away with the cash.
No physical description was available for the suspect, whose face was covered, according to Cannon.
The case will be relayed to HPD’s burglary and theft investigators for a follow-up. Anyone with information is urged to call 713-308-0900.
