Free COVID-19 testing will be conducted Tuesday through Saturday at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center as part of a collaboration between Kroger Health and the Houston Health Department.
The drive-through site will operate from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., or until its daily capacity of 175 tests has been reached, at 6719 W. Montgomery Dr. Those who wish to be tested at the site must make an appointment by visiting krogerhealth.com/covidtesting.
The Houston Health Department said in a news release that the Acres Homes site is one of 13 free testing locations it and its partners are operating across the city this week, with a focus on communities that are vulnerable to COVID-19 and developing serious complications from the upper-respiratory disease caused by the new coronavirus strain. The other area sites are Houston ISD’s Delmar Stadium, one of two fixed sites operated by the city, and United Memorial Medical Center at 510 W. Tidwell Rd.
The United Memorial Medical Center location will operate from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a daily testing capacity of 250 and no appointments required. For more information about that site, call 1-866-333-COVID or visit ummcscreening.com.
To be tested at the Delmar Stadium site, which can administer up to 500 tests per day, residents must call 832-393-4220 to receive an access code.
