Coy Baldree Sr., 90, born Jan. 30, 1926 in Crockett, Texas, died Dec. 30. Baldree served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Franklin, attended Sam Houston State University, retired from Mustang Tractor, and was president of the Oak Forest Lions Club.
Violet “Vi” Lera Conerly, 90, born Feb. 16, 1926 in Branford, Fla., died Dec. 28. Conerly was employed by Heights Funeral Home from 1998-2015.
Harold Joseph Dronet Sr., 88, born 1928, died Dec. 25. Dronet was employed as a truck driver for Saia Motor Freight 48 years. He retired for only a year before going back and driving for Palletized Trucking for eight years.
Maria G. (Rivera) Guajardo, 78, born May 14, 1938, died Dec. 25.
Allen Leal Hernandez, 66, born July 20, 1950, died Dec. 19.
Joel Stephen Klash, 62, died Dec. 26.
Frank August Korenek, 88, born 1928, died Dec. 26.
William H. Lukens, 94, born March 1, 1922 in Germantown, Pa., died Dec. 19. Once WWII broke out, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and went off to flight school, and he was eventually stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station as a flight instructor in the Aerial Photography Squadron.
Corine Marbury, 97, born June 26, 1919 in Leggett, Texas, died Dec. 28. Marbury served in the Parent Teacher’s Association and was the first president when Sinclair Elementary School opened in 1959. She participated in numerous political campaigns and enjoyed “working the polls” at the local election location.
Virginia Earl Rhea, 93, born Aug. 28, 1923 in Stamford, Texas, died Dec. 23. Rhea was a member of Reid Memorial United Methodist Church for 20 years, St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church for 35 years.
Bobby Dean Ridgeway, 82, born June 10, 1934 in Toro, La., died Dec. 31, after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.
Mary Elizabeth Rumfield, 84, born Oct. 25, 1932, died Dec. 27.
Marvin “Smitty” R. Smith, 80, born Feb. 16, 1936, died Dec. 28. As Master Sargent, Smith spent more than 41 years working for the U.S. Air Force.
