An Oak Forest hot spot recently had to pick up the pieces from a burglary for the second time in a year.
Plonk! Beer & Wine Bistro, 1214 W. 43rd St. #100, was burglarized early in the morning Oct. 30, according to the Houston Police Department. There also was a break-in at the business on Dec. 31, 2018.
“Nothing’s gonna keep your hometown team or your neighborhood wine bar down,” Plonk! wrote in a Facebook post Oct. 30.
HPD spokesperson Victor Senties said someone smashed the glass doors on the side of the restaurant to gain entry and steal an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred sometime after the owner closed up shop around 12:30 a.m., according to Senties.
Owners and police are still attempting to see if there is any surveillance video that could pinpoint the exact timeline of the burglary and any suspects. As it occurred overnight, nobody was hurt in the incident.
