This is going to be an office building. NOT ANY KIND OF HOUSING. Just watch Commissioners Court and read the agenda! The court is very clear. The Engineering Department is moving the project along, and Harvey slowed them down I’m sure.
The $250,000 with Joiner was the Master Planning. (Answers: Can you build this here?)
The $220,000 with Joiner was Design Programing. (Answers: What size does it need to be?)
The $429,790 with PGAL is to relook some of the Design Programing since Harvey requires more people to do all the Flood Control Bond work and Engineering work to support it, and then finish that programing and get into designing the building.
Harvey came and put the project on hold, and the Flood Bond changed the size needed.
The Master Plan was sent to Court a few years ago and it says that this will be an office building in the range of 200,000 SF that serves as the new home for Flood Control and several other County departments.
This is a blessing to us, the residents … we will have good jobs right next door, and I’m going to apply!
Stop spreading rumors if you don’t know the facts.
Everyone should watch Commissioners Court and they could see these steps all take place in our local government. It isn’t a black hole, it is all there in black and white! Just read the court agenda and watch our local leaders plan these things and manage our governing body.
Thank You Commissioner R. Jack Cagle!! He is helping to bring another great project to Harris County Precinct 4! Thank Commissioners Court for supporting the departments that care for us, the constituents of this GREAT County!
