Residents in Harris County could be in for a rude awakening Monday night and Tuesday morning.
According to a release from the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a freeze watch for Harris County in effect from midnight until 8 a.m. Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to drop to below freezing levels overnight.
Forecasts don’t call for any rainfall, but areas where temperatures stay below 25 degrees for an extended period of time could experience a hard freeze. Wind-chill temperatures are expected to be in the low 20s going into Tuesday morning.
Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring forecasts throughout Monday and take necessary driving precautions under these conditions.
