Multiple suspects remain at large after attempting to burglarize an Oak Forest phone store early Wednesday morning.
Houston Police Department spokesperson Victor Senties said officers responded to an attempted burglary call at a T-Mobile store at 1335 W. 43rd St. around 2:30 a.m. Senties he said two black males unsuccessfully tried gaining entry before fleeing the scene.
According to Senties, responding officers encountered a white Pontiac matching the suspects’ vehicle description heading westbound on Lamonte Lane while the officers were en route to the store. Following a brief pursuit, however, officers lost sight of the Pontiac when it turned into a nearby neighborhood.
A short time later, Senties said HPD officers found the vehicle abandoned in the 1900 block of Althea Drive, where it appeared the suspects gained entry to a resident’s backyard.
“Officers did recover some clothing left behind in the backyard of a home near 1900 Althea along with some burglary tools,” Senties said.
HPD’s burglary and theft division will be conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident. Anyone with information on the suspects or their whereabouts is encouraged to contact the division at 713-308-0900.
