A 243-unit apartment complex is coming to the corner of North Shepherd Drive and Janisch Road.
Dakota Enterprises, a Houston-based developer that specializes in market-rate, workforce housing, announced its plans this week for Fishel’s Landing at 4840 N. Shepherd Dr. in the Garden Oaks area. The developer said it expects to break ground in the fall on the four-story, elevator-serviced complex that will feature covered parking, valet trash service, a two-story gym, swimming pool, tanning deck, grilling station and dog park.
The property measures nearly 225,000 square feet and was purchased last April from J.B Jones of Jones Oil, according to a news release from Dakota Enterprises. The developer said it expects the complex to be ready for residents by the end of 2021.
“This is an exciting new project for the Dakota team as our dedication to the community and our goal to consistently develop quality market-rate housing continues to get stronger and stronger,” Rick Guttman, founder and CEO of Dakota Enterprises, said in the release.
Dakota Enterprises has another apartment complex in the area in the works. It broke ground on the Milwee Apartments, a 170-unit complex at 5310 Milwee St. in Oak Forest, last March. That project will be completed this spring, according to the developer.
Both complexes have been designed by Mucasey Architects and will be managed by Dakota Enterprises. Its sister company, Ibiza Enterprises, is the general contractor.
Dakota Enterprises described Fishel’s Landing as a “garden-style property” with all units including wood plank-style flooring, chef-style kitchens and stainless steel appliances along with washers and dryers.
