Multiple small businesses on Heights’ historic 19th Street are cutting a break to those who have stood face-to-face with COVID-19.
As part of the 19th Street Merchants Association’s Memorial Day Appreciation Weekend, participating stores are offering 20 percent discounts off purchases made by frontline workers such as doctors, nurses, grocery store employees, police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. The promotion is being held today through Monday.
Among the participating businesses are Big Blue Whale, Dramatika Custom Framing, Harold’s Restaurant, Bar & Rooftop Terrace, Jubilee, Mary & Moss and Tea Sip.
“Small businesses have all felt the impact (of the pandemic), but they still want to give back to those people — all the people who had to be out there and keep our society going for us,” said Coryne Rich, a representative of the 19th Street Merchants Association.
Rich said there are other 19th Street businesses offering discounts this weekend. Customers are encouraged to check with each business for more information about their promotions.
